At this time of year with a mix of warm and cooler days; it’s hard to know what to wear.
How you use colour can feel a little complicated too; especially if you are not naturally a rainbow kind of person or (a bit like me) if in doubt wear black – and maybe; just maybe, black isn’t the right choice for you, just now.
AUTUMN TREND OF KHAKI
This Autumn khaki green is in; to be honest it’s a green we typically see this time of year however the designers and the retailers are just giving us a lot more of it!
You may already own quite a few pieces and if you’ve been following my styling and blog for a number of years then you must surely own an army jacket by now!
Colour experts would say that cream is the better option over white to sit with khaki – that’s because they both sit on the warm tone palette. However, I find summer both soft and bright icy whites work really too and I often use my army jacket to give a bright white a softer vibe to my overall outfit.
These three outfits are all recent and this is how I would typically dress for weekend styling, a girlie brunch date or simply to shop around in.
SUMMER WHITE DRESSES
It’s too cold on some days now to be sleeveless, and so a jacket is more put-together outfit I find than grabbing a cardigan for warmth, especially if you are heading out-and-about and meeting up with people.
A large tote bag gives a feel of off-duty and I am even on slightly rainy days I’m still opting for sandals if I can.

This next look I wore shopping in Oxford city centre. The day was going to be a mix of sunshine and showers, and because I had a lot of running around to do, I opted for sandals and my new light raincoat that has a hood, therefore not having to worry about the weather.
The longer length coat meant that my midi dress had more protection of cover, just in case!
I have recently featured this coat in my new Autumn buys or must haves for this new season – this light raincoat is so lovely to wear and I like how the quilted integral gilet adds interest to the overall look.

DON’T PACK YOUR WHITE JEANS AWAY
There is still plenty of opportunity to wear your white jeans, even cropped ones like mine, over the next month or so – it keeps a lighter touch to your outfits rather than feeling all wintery.
Add a pop of colour to your shoes or pair with white trainers. White jeans work well with neutrals tops like grey, navy and black which also coordinates well with Khaki. Be brave, wear them!
