The Aztec dress is the dress for Summer ’21 – A resort dress that’s perfect for staycations too | This is a collaboration post with The Cotswold Shed – An independent online boutique.
The Aztec dress has been around for a few summers, however there is something about this year that’s made it suddenly pop more than ever – maybe it’s that need to feel like you are abroad when really we are stuck having to staycation in the UK, but one thing is for sure – the minute you pop this dress on, it feels all holiday!

One Size Fits All
Whilst it comes in mini or maxi length – this smock style dress comes in one size, allowing this oversized dress to flow as you walk, keeping it breezy on hotter days.
The sleeves are ¾ in length which is perfect for showing off your stacked bracelets and I also love how the deep v-front neckline, which opens up the bust line to show off some skin.
Made from thick 100% cotton, it has that slight crease effect all over, which makes it perfect for travelling; unlike the dreaded summer linen fabric which I love wearing but hate travelling with!
This makes it’s perfect to travel in or to roll up and get wearing the minute you have arrived.

Where to wear
All summer in my view – it’s one that you can dress up with espadrilles and wear to alfresco brunching with girlfriends.
If you are heading to the shops for a mooch then I would probably team it with tan sandals and a basket straw bag.
Off to the beach, this makes the perfect cover up over swimwear, just add flip-flops; or for that afternoon walk in the park, after a 3-course (supposedly) light lunch, then I would add trainers and don’t forget the dog!
WEAR it, SHARE IT
If you are a mother & daughter combo then have fun with matchy-matchy or pick different colours, different lengths and share them.
With cost-per-wear right at the heart of what I believe; this is the perfect style of dress that can be shared, be worn by so many and you will all look different on every woman – especially if you are one of the lucky ones that head abroad this year on a beachy holiday.

Jo owns The Cotswold Shed and has an online boutique selling the Aztec dresses from her home in the Cotswolds.
She offers a variety of different lengths, with an array of colours & patterns to choose from. She also sells them at a fraction of the price at £76, compared to the designer brands which are over £200.
By purchasing directly with Jo you will be saving yourself oodles of cash and be supporting a British independent.
Jo was featured in The Times this week in the feature Have you got the #Aztec dress yet? – she’s wearing the Aztec dress in black, another favourite colour choice of mine!
