THE A/W CAPSULE COLLECTION BY SMART WORKS – FASHION SUPPORTING WOMEN

A couple of weeks ago I headed to Smart Works in Reading, one of many Smart Works branches across the UK; to not only check out their preview for the preloved Autumn event, but to hear and see first hand the great work Smart Works can be for unemployed women, who are in need of an outfit and upskilling their interview skills, to nail that job interview.

On the night, I met Marie, a personal stylist who took me around the styling studio and explained how the process works.

Once an unemployed woman secures that job interview, she can make an appointment with Smart Works to get the support she needs to transform herself, giving her the faith to walk confidently in to that interview, with a potential new employer and talk all about why she is the right candidate to be hired.

Hearing the stories of how these women find themselves unemployed or lacking confidence to take the steps they need; it was really impressive to see how, within a couple of hours, with a professional personal stylist and a professional interviewing coach, just how confident they become and leave Smart Works ready to take action.

Best yet, it works! Smart Works can confidently boast that 69% of women secure the job and in ten years they have helped 32,000 women, and they are not stopping there.

FASHION SUPPORTING WOMEN

When I saw, that Smart Works have collaborated with 11 fashion brands, to buy fashion for Autumn-Winter 2023 – I wanted to share this with you.

Curated by Smart Works ambassador, Isabel Spearman, the collection marks the charity’s 10th anniversary and will raise vital funds & awareness to help more unemployed women into work. Every brand involved has made a generous commitment to donate proceeds from each piece sold, to Smart Works, supporting their great work and focus on doubling the number of women they reach to 10,000 per year by 2025.

There is nothing quite like shopping for yourself, when you know you are helping a fellow sister.

Enjoy, Lizzi x
