SPRING/SUMMER ’19 FASHION EVENTS

Lizzi Richardson Fashion Events

There are some exciting fashion related events happening at the moment, and I thought I would highlight a few that I may be going to because sometimes you can’t quite get tickets on the day – so with your diary in hand (and your credit card!) here are a few fashion events you might want to get all dressed up for, take a few girlfriends and have a good old glamourous time…. whilst talking fashion, styling and of course a little shopping!

V&A Homescreen

So first up I am going to mention the Dior Exhibition at the V&A – now I know what you are thinking, it’s been open for a while, so hardly new and you can’t get tickets easily. Well please hear me out! (lol)  – You now get a double helping of fashion and style if you go to the V&A because the Mary Quant exhibition is on too. The only way to avoid battling with tickets, dates and timings,  is queuing for a year’s membership or purchase one beforehand online – I highly recommend this strategy having done this myself (I did it too for the Alexander McQueen)!  Not only do you get in line at the next available slot, you get to go in as many times you like (very handy if London is local), plus you get 10% off in the shop (which I always buy),  access to a members room and invited before the public to any special talks (some of these you do have to pay for). If you are not up for membership, they have extended Dior until 1st September giving you time over the summer holidays and it costs £24 whilst Mary Quant is on until February 2020 costing £12.

Fashion and Textile homepage

Sticking with Mary Quant, the Fashion & Textile Museum are exhibiting the Swinging London: A Lifestyle Revolution / Terence Conran – Mary Quant – this looks very interesting especially if you have an interest in the Chelsea set of the 60’s with Biba, the King’s Road and all the fun they had back then. As there is quite a bit going on about Mary Quant, I’ll just add in here (if you have Sky Q) then go to Sky Arts and download Mary Quant, it’s a 30 minute bio of how she set about developing her style, how she revolutionised the London scene and how the famous Vidal Sassoon 5-point bob became her iconic hairstyle. This was such a fab time to be in London, I’m slightly sad I got to miss the fun! But back to the exhibition,  I plan to add to my list in the next few weeks, it ends 2nd June so there is not long to go. Tickets are £9.90.

Manchester Fashion Week

If you live in the north of England, I’ve spotted that Manchester Fashion Week kicks off on Monday the 13th of May and you can buy tickets to go, they are £15 + booking fee. From what I can make out this will then give you free admission to Manchester Garments, Textiles & Accessories Fair come June 27th and 28th! Head to the site to find out more, but it’s important to support your local designers and boutiques and if only I was closer I would attend myself! Manchester ladies, I do hope you have fun!

Coming very soon is Stella Live 2019 – I’ve not heard of this one before so I can’t give you much feedback, but it’s on 10th and 11th of May in Saatchi Gallery, Chelsea. Sadly I won’t be able to make it. But if you are a fan of The Telegraph’s Stella magazine, it’s offers smart ageless women advice on ageless beauty, fashion, style and well-being. With live talks and free treatments, it sound like this would be a suitably stylish event. If you do go and you love it, please do give me feedback, either by coming back and commenting below or send me a DM via one of my social channels (top-right of my header to find me!)

The Big Little Fashion Show at Hedsor House

The next little shout out is slightly different! As you know I am quite prevalent on Instagram and have formed many ‘fashionable’ relationships; well I am delightedly to give a shout out to some ladies I know that are putting on a fashion event in the stunning surroundings of Hedsor House! The BIG Little Fashion Show is a one day festival in the beautiful English countryside on the 12th of June, showcasing the best in UK independent fashion & beauty. The show will be an extravaganza of shopping, styling workshops, catwalk shows. and a panel talk. Bringing together the best in UK brands, in the luxurious surrounding of stately home splendour. A brilliant, stylish day out for any fashion lover.

Brands include Ridley London ( Partner sponsor), FWP by Rae ( Partner Sponsor), Bricks and Stiches, Donna Ida, Rae Feather, Rock the Jumpsuit (Partner Sponsor), Aspiga ( Partner Sponsor) along with Harry Rocks, Brookes Clothing, Ethereal London, Tarra Rosenbaum, plus many more.

You can book to either attend the afternoon which is 12.30pm to 4.30pm or to the early-evening which starts at 5pm and finishes at 9pm. Tickets are available.

I’m excited and it looks like it will be a fabulously stylish event, so don’t hold back on getting dressed up! And hopefully I might see you there. x
