NEW IN AT ZARA UNDER £30 & I’M LOVING!

This week on Fashion Fix Live, I featured 3 items under £30 that are ‘New in’ at Zara; this is what I love about them! Read on for my tips.

I thought I would share the three items I selected to feature on this week’s Fashion Fix Live; the brief I gave myself was it had to be a non-guilt treat. It needed to work for both a staycation holiday or for abroad, and it needed to have a little wow factor too!

Now with a price-point of £30 or under; the quality will be impacted – simply because it costs to make quality products, so I’ll give you the highs (and a few lows) of each of the three that I picked.

MINI TOTE BAG WITH FLOWER DETAIL – £29.99

This gorgeous magenta pink bag has Carrie Bradshaw’s name written all over it! It comes in other colours too like green, orange and purple. It’s gives a little nod to the baguette bag trend that we are seeing this summer and as it’s mini in size, to be placed on the elbow or hold in hand only.

It’s a good size allowing you to fit your maxi phone, keys, purse, lippy etc. It has one small inner compartment pocket (not big enough for my phone) and has one magnetic closure popper to fastener up the bag.

It’s nylon material and over all it’s all very glam.

The slight low point – in this photo you see the flower bud is all closed up; mine arrived where you can see the ‘unsightly & unfinished’ middle and I couldn’t shift the material enough to close it up.

Resulting in the fact from a distance it looks fine, but if you were to place it on a table, close up it doesn’t look finished; if I plan to keep it, I will find a jewel (tone on tone or diamante style) and I would glue it in to make it look a little more…. glam!

ASYMMETRIC RUFFLED BODYSUIT – £17.99

I am a huge fan of bodysuits – I think they are great if you have trousers or skirts that are not high-waisted so that you can keep your midriff covered (should you want to); they also act as shape-fitting garments, holding you in and giving you a smoother silhouette.

I do realise some ladies are concerned about the ‘going to the toilet’ factor, but it’s like jumpsuits – you’ve just got to allow a little more time and quite frankly, get on with it!

This one I am keeping; it adds a great amount of wow to a casual look without having to make much effort; I would team it with shorts, jeans or culottes –  I’ve tried it with skirts, and if I am truly honest (and here’s my low point coming up) it looks like a ballgown gone wrong!

The material is cotton, it’s a day piece that you can take into the evening simply by elevating your footwear, your bag and a little more jewellery.

I recommend to size down, so that you get a tighter fit to keep the ‘off-shoulder’ side up – you don’t want to be fidgeting as you wear it.

I got the colours wrong in Fashion Fix Live, I’ve rechecked, and it comes in blue and green too – I’ve opted for the black.

LONG PRINTED GREEN DRESS – £27.99

This was a keeper for me! I love the colour as green is such a fabulous summer look; the floral print appeals and I like the wrapover front of the vest style front – it gives a little ruching effect which helps when you are bigger busted like me. The slight low point is that I have had to stich a couple of stitches into the criss-cross section as it gaped open; and the belt (as I pointed out in the show) was very poor. The ends were unfinished and the material belt is too short.

I don’t often use the material belt on a dress, I tend to swap them for a leather style just to elevate the dress, but if you do then the ends and the length do matter, longer is more elegante less ‘cheap’ looking.

The maxi length is great, good for sandals now and come late summer that will work well with boots. and it’s just the right flow in the walk, not too much material so perfect for hot days keeping you cool.

HOW I’VE STYLED IT

For it’s debut outing, I wore green dangling earrings and a gold ‘letter L’ necklace along with a brown weave belt to enhance my waistline and on this occasion I wore it with my Dune floral rose metallic & tan sandals (which are many years old now).
