MONOCHROME STYLE | AT HOME WITH ETHEREAL LONDON (IT’S NOT SPONSORED, I JUST BLOODY LOVE IT!)

Monochrome style is my favourite! When you discover a great brand doing great stuff you need to shout about it! Monochrome style from Ethereal London’s At Home collection.

I’ve invested in this At Home collection in the summer of 2020, and I have not stopped wearing it. I have found my Kaya Black Crop Loungewear to be so useful both at home and for summer styling. In fact I wore the cropped trousers flying home from my holiday in Turkey in September; I usually opt for a jumpsuit, but I had worn the trousers so much on holiday I couldn’t see a reason why I wouldn’t use them to wear home.

My love of kimonos will never die – I find them such a great piece to have at home all year round or use as an extra layer in spring and summer when I am out & about. If you entertain at home and want to be stylish but not OTT, a kimono is a winner. It’s a style that has never let me down.

In November, I decided to add to my home style collection, well with another lockdown pending and the need to be warm whilst working-from-home, I just knew Ethereal London’s Malia Black Merino Longline Wrap Cardigan would be perfect. In fact I’ve been so happy with the collection I didn’t consider any other brand for this long black cardigan purchase. I knew I wanted to invest in quality and without any haste I ordered it. I’ve hardly taken it off (in fact I washed and ironed it within 24 hours – now for me, that’s unheard of!)

I featured her in my All Black Everything post – at that time my cost-per-wear rate was at £1.99 per day; it’s now around £1.50.

MY INTERVIEW WITH ANNIE HOLT – FOUNDER & CREATIVE OF ETHEREAL LONDON

I chatted to Annie in an Insta Live when the collection was first launched; here’s an extract from that interview.

Lizzi: How do you start the process for a new print collection?

Annie: I’ve always been a bit of a collector. I collect anything pretty, any image, magazine pages, 20,000 photo’s etc. Often when I look back at the start of a collection, without realising I have been saving things of a similar theme. I make mood boards and l have always loved monochrome as a palette, its seasonless. I wanted the collection to be seasonless; I wanted it to be for all year round.

I work with a print designer and I brief her and tell her what I’m looking for. I send her photographs and a sketch, she and I would work together and will turn it into an exclusive print. So what you see will be an exclusive and you won’t see it anywhere else.

Lizzi: If you’re going away for the weekend and you are unsure what to pack I think black is the easier option. The monochrome ditsy print mixes so well.

Annie: Its important to me that all the pieces across all categories are really versatile. I love the way you’re taking them to the next level. It’s brilliant how you are styling them with a military jacket and taking them up and down a level.

It’s the same with the Event dresses people will buy them for a special event but then will style them at home – adding a sparkly bag, a bit of red lippy and you’re ready to go.

THE FINAL WORD

For me, as I continue to curate a stylish wardrobe that I am proud to own and wear; it’s important for me to know I am buying into design, quality and style. I’ve been a huge fan of Ethereal London for a good couple of years now, and I make no apologies for this brand to be repeated on Loved By Lizzi, as I continue to invest in future collections.

Next up, All back everything, five fabulous items I own right now!
