
Exactly one year ago today I started my weight loss journey; here I am 12 months on and I weigh what I wanted to achieve.
I purposely didn’t start on the 1st January, I knew I would fail – I am not great at New Year resolutions, plus my birthday is at the end of the month – and so on the 4th February 2019, I started.
My aim was to achieve this in a positive and focused way so that at the end of the year I would be where I wanted to be. I never thought at the beginning, I would achieve it all in nine months, focusing on losing only one pound per week.
Losing weight can be one of the most challenging, demotivating and very sensitive areas in a woman’s life – we all have an ‘ideal’ in our head and it can seem such a way off at the beginning. For me personally, I didn’t realise I had gained the weight that I did until I saw a photo of myself on Christmas Day in 2018. It made me sad, it made me cry.
I went on my weight loss journey with the intention to reach a healthy weight for my height – stay in proportion to what I naturally am – a curvaceous hourglass.
My weight loss journey was a challenge – I focused on counting calories and adapting my busy schedule to fit in fitness. I flexed my weekly plan to make sure I didn’t feel like I was missing out when dining with friends or family. After nine months I lost 2 ½ stone and reached my ideal weight for my height and body proportions.
Now I’m five months on from reaching that goal and I have maintained this weight. I gain 6 lbs in five days during Christmas & New Year, I refocused back on my plan in early January and by the end of the month, I was back to where I was just before Christmas break.
It’s important you understand that I am not a nutritionist, a personal trainer or have any medical knowledge. I am a style blogger who embarked on a weight loss journey in 2019. This 32 page eBook has come about as I am frequently asked “How did you do it?”
