DR GLYCOLIC™ SOFT FEET 7-DAY PEEL SOCKS

I RECENTLY PURCHASED BEAUTY PIE DR GLYCOLIC™ SOFT FEET PEEL SOCKS & THIS IS WHAT I THINK ABOUT IT, 3 WEEKS ON

I feel compelled to write this blogpost, as I have received so many direct messages on Instagram either asking me what I thought or how it was going using BEAUTY PIE’S DR GLYCOLIC™ Soft Feet Peel Socks. Then on my journey, because it is very much a journey, I found by the personal experiences people shared with me, this product is marmite.

I’m going to keep it as brief as I can and share with you exactly how I felt throughout the process.

WHAT’S IT FOR?

It’s a skincare product that is applied by putting on a sheet mask, in a sock shape, that contains Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid which is combined with other natural antioxidants, which encourages the hard skin on your feet to peel, over a period of time.

BEAUTY PIE’S DR GLYCOLIC™ SOFT FEET PEEL SOCKS – HOW DO YOU USE IT?

It’s approximately two hours of your time in one whole session to actually prepare, use and then clear up!

You wash and dry your feet; and then I recommend to apply the foot mask socks, wherever you are going to be sitting or laying for the next 90 minutes, because you can’t walk around, I found it quite slippery and not easy to walk in them.

After 90 minutes you need to remove it;  as it’s a thick mask, you do need to head to a bathroom to wash your feet – I chose to go into the shower for ease as it needs quite a bit of rinsing.

At the end of the two hours, feet are very soft but the peeling has yet to begin!

HOW LONG UNTIL YOU YOUR FEET START TO PEEL?

The instructions suggest 3-7 days but allow up to 10 days.

Everyone who shared their version of events had a different timeline, so I am just going to give you mine.

Day 1 to Day 7 – Nothing happened

Day 10 – I thought nothing had happened

Evening of Day 10 – I was baffled with what looked like dandruff on sofa pouffe where I had been resting my feet in the evening.

Day 11 to Day 15 – Some serious dandruff, occasional chunks of big peel – I had to cover my feet up, I was so embarrassed

Day 12 to Day 21 – Sore feet (I’ll come back to this)

WHAT WAS THE PEELING LIKE?

Not how I was expecting it to be!

I thought I would have 2-3 days of big chunky peeling skin that would come from the soles of my feet – this is not the case.

I experienced, for the most part, small like dandruff shedding, all over my feet, in between my toes and  all the way up to my ankles where the mask sheets had been tied in the 90 minute session.

This meant, even when wearing my most comfortiest trainers you could see the peeling process

And when you removed any socks or tights, that is seriously the worst part of looking at it all, to the point I thought I would have to bin my socks!

WHAT ADDITIONAL ISSUES HAPPENED?

Sore feet. About two days into the peeling stage I found my feet to be quite sore.

Even my most comfiest trainers and boots rubbed my feet. The only time I didn’t have an issue was wearing flip-flops which I tried to do as much as possible but then you can see the peeling – I actually don’t know what’s worse!

Day 12 to Day 21 I was not happy with the product at all and was regretting going through the process… and then…

THE END RESULT

A whole 11 days after what the instructions on the packet was suggesting, I had lovely soft feet. Some of the harder areas still need a little work on, but so much better.

By Day 21 my feet no longer felt sore.

Since Day 22 I have been one happy chick and now pleased I went through the process.

WHAT”S THE FINAL CONCLUSION?

I feel like it’s been a roller-coaster journey, a lot of moaning from me too!

Day 1 to Day 10 I was frustrated that nothing was happening and then from Day 11 to Day 21 I had ten days of what felt like never ending issues; but the final result was pleasing.

I would do it again, but I would do it in early Summer where you don’t have to wear enclosed shoes; I would try and do it so that the peeling happened whilst I worked-from-home.

I would never do it before an event unless I had plenty of time; and if it was before a holiday I would do it a whole month before, because the fresh new skin I am not sure you would want to expose to the sun.

I wouldn’t buy it as a gift for someone, I think this is a personal experience and you cannot guarantee how it will impact them – they need to make that decision for themselves.

You can have a good listen to me moaning and chatting about it on the latest episode of Fashion Fix Live – co-Host Samantha is a huge fan and highly recommends it, so you will hear both experiences! Watch on IGTV, YouTube or listen on Apple Podcast.
