On Thursday I was invited to a style talk at John Lewis & Partners in Oxford; this talk was open to the public and was completely free. They were launching their new SS19 collection by one of their fabulous new brands that they now have in the Oxford store – Fenn Wright Manson. A brand (if I am honest) I didn’t know much about so I was interested to hear more about their design ethos and their current collection. And I was pleasantly surprised!

The SS19 Collection was presented by none other than the Brand Managing Director of Fenn Wright Manson, Amanda Seabourne – she explained that the design strategy of FWM was always to be timeless, an investment piece. And with this in mind they are proud to offer limited 450 pieces of any one style, minimising the chances of turning up to an event and twinning – and whilst twinning can be winning – when you have invested a lot of time, money and effort for a special occasion – you want to be special too. Using pure silk fabrics that are 100% designed and owned by the FWM brand, this really offers you a unique and timeless investment that you’ll enjoy for many years.
The Fenn Wright Manson team also showcased on the day how the collection could be worn across six decades; models in this style talk were in their 20’s, 30’s 40’s and not forgetting Amanda’s own mother who looked fabulous and was 81 years young! I’ve not included any images of the models in this post, because I do not have their permission – but trust me when I say you can wear these items at any age – and FWM are very proud to offer an ‘ageless’ brand, something I am more than happy to promote, because this is the ethos behind Loved by Lizzi, always!

Final words on the ‘practicality’ of the collection before I dive into what I love! The team have designed the items to be machine washable – they do not want you to wear this special item just once. After your formal do, they encourage you to style it with everyday items like white trainers, straw bags, cross-body bags etc to get that day look – they want you to wear it time and time again – which is why they have invested in beautiful fabrics that are designed to be worn all day, keeping you feeling fresh and just as good at the end of the day as when you first put it on.

ITEMS I LOVE
So first up has to be the yellow dress that I am wearing as my feature image! (A little heads up… I already had planned to do a ‘Holiday’ post with the John Lewis & Partners stylist team and when I saw Meghan wearing this yellow dress I knew I had to include it! – so it’s a little sneaky peak into next week’s blogpost!)
Fenn Wright Manson Petite Tally Dress, Lemon – £189
You can wear this to an event, and then thereafter team it with a denim jacket and white trainers and you are set for city break chic! Perfect for summer.
Fenn Wright Manson Camilla Trousers, Navy – £109
These Camilla Trousers where not only popular with the people at the event, but also on my instastories – I think these are perfect for weekend style and ideal as your chic travel outfit.
Now do you remember by recent styling post on how to find the perfect pair of jeans, well within that post we styled one of the looks with a Fenn Wright Manson blouse – and I am seriously thinking of investing in this blouse – I’ve been toying for weeks, and I’m pretty sure I am going to invest. I can see me wearing this now, in my fifties, sixties and so on – it’s pretty timeless.
Fenn Wright Manson Coral Reef Top, Multi Blue – Was £129, Now £90
WHAT I WORE
It’s kind of nice to get a little dressed up when you are going to a style talk, and as the weather had turned and it’s not been as warm and sunny, I still opted for a floral dress that I purchased from Zara (AW17) and I teamed this with long boots and a denim jacket. Adding a light fabric scarf for that flexibility to keep extra warm should I need it. It’s definitely essentials at the moment to layer up!
