ETHEREAL LONDON ~ 100% SILK, 100% BRITISH

Introducing Ethereal London

I am excited to finally be writing this blogpost about Ethereal London – it’s been a little while in the making and I hope by the time you finish reading it, you’ll understand why. Showcasing here the Ophelia Dark Midi, a gorgeous special dress, one that’s 100% silk, 100% designed, sourced and produced in the UK and most importantly it’s not just for one day.

I first came across Ethereal London at the Wild Tweed summer festival back in 2018; the floral designs coming from the stand captured my eye instantly. Seeing an array of different dresses (but the same signature look and feel) I could tell that this brand had something special about it. It was at this show that I met Annie, the co-founder and talented designer of not only dresses, but silk print. Apart from a few small pleasantries between us, I didn’t buy but I certainly noted the brand for future inspiration.

Randomly a few months later, just before Christmas… Annie and I found ourselves with six to seven other women wrapping our Christmas presents at an event held by House of Wolf Interiors (another talented lady too, Lou Wolfenden!) – lots of giggles and plenty of bad wrapping on my part compared to everyone else, but a memorable evening nonetheless!  I’m telling you all this, because I do not want you think I am selecting random brands to feature on my blog – Loved by Lizzi is my baby, and I will only put on this blog what I feel deserves the credit to be put forward to you lovely ladies… and so with this second meeting, I knew Ethereal London was a brand I wanted to know more about.

Ophelia Dark Midi Dress

The Ophelia Dark Midi was a dress I picked for a shoot with Sarah Rider, that we did back in the summer for the blog and Instagram. When the dress arrived I was completely surprised by all the little details and just how well the dress fitted my body.

The silk is so delicate to touch but not in the wearing; in fact the quality is so high you know you have longevity with this dress both with the style and the degree of excellence in the fabric and print.

Such beautiful details

The Ophelia Dark Midi (along with many other dresses designed by Annie) are simply perfect for weddings or a special event. In my heart though, I am a strong believer in not saving for best. Every dress needs to earn it’s place in my wardrobe and a one hit wonder I tend to find nowadays a tad disappointing and certainly not worth the investment. So with this in mind, I wanted to show to you that within six months of ownership, how I have been wearing it.

It’s debut outing was at the fun and stylish event of the Big Little Fashion Show, here I teamed it with my black heeled boots, one of my favourite evening bags in green and due to the weather I wore my biker draped across my shoulders.

I have over the summer wore it a few times to Oxford shopping, I dressed it down with trainers, my Guess ones, but because I was on my own I didn’t get any OOTD posts, but not to worry, I have more outfits to come!

As you know I had the amazing opportunity to attend London Fashion Week, and I just knew this had to be the Ethereal London dress to wear! This time I styled it with a wide black belt replacing the fabric one that comes with the dress, along with Coco by INYATI and my black boots (and after all the walking I did, I wish I had worn the Guess trainers!! LOL).

And just recently, I have styled it again but kind of ‘winterised’ it with my long red boots, that picks out some of the colour in the dress along with Coco and my AllSaints Biker Jacket. What I am hoping you can see, is that you can take an investment dress and wear it, wear it again and wear it some more.

I love restyling this dress so there will be more to come of it 2020! The Ophelia Dark print has four different styles of dresses and starts from £300
