When you own a lot of neutral tops then consider adding some colour into your look by exploring a colour that works for you for your bottom half – whether that’s skirts or trousers – for me personally red is a good colour choice, but you could try this with yellow, green, blue and so on.
In the every increasing need to work our wardrobes hard it’s important that within a few small changes you can take a day look to night. What I particularly love about this outfit post is that there is no getting naked to swapping the look!
All the undies remain, including a nude vest top that I purchased from Primark (regardless of the cheap price, I personally think they are the best on the highstreet, they are longer in the body, they have adjustable straps and remarkably very good quality) – All you need to do is change the top ‘top’, swap your shoes and bag, load up the jewellery and add a touch more make up too! #jobdone
THE DAY LOOK
I’ve gone for an office look here as it’s quite typical to head straight from work out for dinner. These Zara culotte trousers are a versatile style, so if your day is not quite this smart then wear with a white tee, add white pumps and use a more casual tote bag.
My lace top is also from Zara and it seems to go with everything, trousers, skirts and jeans. Lace is a great way to add texture to your outfit and I really quite like wearing lace during the day, no need to save it for evenings only.
I have teamed the look here with matching red shoes, minimised my jewellery and I have invested in this white and gold bag for the summer. Those of you who follow me on Instagram will know I have a bag just like this in black that I use frequently for the office for over two years now – it’s like a cross between a handbag and a briefcase, I feel this summer version should last me years too.

THE NIGHT LOOK
To take this look from day to evening, I feel you just ramp up the glam! This blush mesh beaded top is quite a fragile style of garment, I do not anticipate this item to last me many years, I am fine with this because it’s not too expensive at under £40; the few times I have worn it so far many of little beads have fallen off, and whilst River Island do supply with you with spares, the likelihood of me sewing them back on, is unlikely to say the least!
So this particular top may not be for you, but there are other sheer style tops that you can buy and if yours is not as embellished as the one, simply add necklaces or perhaps a brooch to add some more sparkle.
I often opt for a clutch bag for an evening look, this one I particularly like as it has a chain strap too; the metallic two-tone gold works well and ties in nicely with the platform high wedges.
Now let’s talk about these beauties, hopefully you remember them from playsuit double duty post I featured a couple of weeks ago; showcasing just how great these would be to take on holiday. They are super high, but as with all wedges not that difficult in reality to walk in them. I absolutely love them and can’t wait to take them on my holidays.
Finish off your look with stacking up the bracelets, perhaps adding shell jewellery which is very on trend this season and mixing up your rings a little for a different vibe.
