7 INFLUENCERS SHOW US HOW TO STYLE AUTUMN

Need help on how to style Autumn? Then look no further than the fabulous style inspiration on Instagram – 7 influencers show us how.

Instagram is one of my favourite social media platforms to get style inspiration for the season ahead. Did you know you can use the save function, it’s the bookmark icon on the right-hand side on any Instagram post.

By saving your favourite style posts, you can start to create folders to gather all of your best-loved outfits in one place; from chunky loafer styling, padded jackets to anything you like! It’s a great tool to use everyday to build your style files for the current season.

Here are seven stylish ladies on Instagram, who are styling Autumn fabulously this season, and here are some of the key trends they have tapped into.

THIS SEASON’S MUST-HAVE PADDED JACKET

Styled by Georgina Patient (@georgina_patient)

The Frankie Shop padded jacket is the pinnacle of all the padded jackets to own this Autumn; and Georgina styles it uber chic with highstreet stirrup leggings and chunky loafers. The beanie knitted hat justs elevates it to that next level of style.

The Pull-on leather knee boots

Styled by Debbie Le (@thefashionablepan)

To the non-fashionista’s they look like wellies, but these leather boots are everywhere this season.  Black is the most popular colour choice although there are many styles in khaki or cream, which are just as fab.

Debbie has elevated this look by teaming them shorts, a gorgeous autumnal knit and then finished the look with a blazer, structured handbag and the much needed sunnies for the ultimate chic look; achieving a ‘not trying too hard’ stylish vibe.

You might not think they are for you, but when they are selling styles like this, in good old Marks and Spencers then they truly are for everyone!

I recommend opting for a chunky style sole and if a blazer is not your style, add a longer length coat to balance out the shorter length shorts or skirt you’ll be wearing them with.

Cashmere everytime!

Styled by Zanne Lee (@allthingszanne)

If you can afford it; buy better, buy cashmere.

It’s my favourite and I cannot tell you just how much warmer it will keep you on cold winter days.

Zanne is styling one of my favourite looks for autumn, a camel roll-neck with strong tailoring and this season’s chunky loafers. It’s such a great look to copy and you can wear it anywhere – brunch, lunch a day-trip out.

It’s truly an easy stylish option for any busy woman.

RED ALERT ❤️

Styled by Emily Gray (@johnlewis_emily)

Autumn is a great time to be adding colour, I love red at this time of the year. I am pretty sure you probably own a red dress already but if you don’t this animal print midi that Emily is styling is perfect for the ‘return to office’ style.

Wearing a leather belt rather than a material belt, which a dress like this would typically come with, can elevate the whole look. It also helps with coordinating with you boots and blazer for a polished-chic look.

TAILORING WITH A DIFFERENCE

Styled by Patricia Jines (@patriciajonesstyling)

Sometimes you want to wear tailoring but you don’t want that formal trouser suit style. I am absolutely loving this look by Patricia – it’s a great outfit that’s perfect for the office, giving off a professional vibe without being too corporate.

On cooler days I would add a long trench coat and drape it over my shoulders.

Patricia is wearing it here with white trousers, but you can easily swap this for your white jeans if that’s more your personal style.

SHACKET X FLORAL DRESS

Styled by Caroline (@aprincipalof fashion)

I’m pretty sure you own a floral dress and a shacket – if not, then you are very new to my blog! Caroline is styling this gorgeous everyday look with this season’s chunky boots!

If you can, don’t wear tights – this look is best with bare legs, even if you wear a midi rather than a mini dress. My tip here is to layer up on the top-half and wear thick socks; I promise this will keep you warm enough to wear this look over Autumn!

Caroline styles this look so fabulously and it’s a outfit you can easily copy for weekend styling or a low-key evening out.

THE TONAL WHITE LOOK

Styled by Erna Leon (@mercer7official)

Traditionally known as Winter Whites, I wouldn’t save this look for a cold day.

This is such a great stylish outfit that oozes effortlessness – and that’s ultimately what every woman wants! To look chic without making it look hard work. (Although we all know it does take a little work!)

Erna’s style ethos is effortless and her ultra modern looks, offer transitional styling throughout the year. This is why I picked this tonal look she styled earlier this Spring, to show you, that you can still wear a look like this in Autumn.

Erna’s own style blog MERCER7 showcases many of these styles plus her own style edits.
