6 PIECES THAT WILL REFRESH YOUR WARDROBE FOR SPRING

At the start of any new season, it’s the ideal opportunity to review your wardrobe – assessing what you already own can be a difficult task; but by simply injecting some colour, refreshing a couple of garments, you will be quite surprised just how quickly you can take an ‘old’ outfit and re-style it, to look fresh and modern for the coming season.

I popped to my favourite store, &Other Stories at the Westgate Oxford Shopping Centre last week and the following six pieces are all inspired from this visit.

Striped Melange Top
Red
£49

Although this is described as red, it’s actually a lighter red tone; the pink/red tonal mix teamed with a neutral palette is very ‘in’ this Spring. I’m loving this combination and I think my flatlay above demonstrates this – the gorgeous top below is a great starting point – ideal to be worn with black, navy or cream basics.

Ruffled Wrap Dress
Yellow
£79

&Other Stories have a number of yellow dresses in store, a great colour for this Spring, very fresh and a good colour choice I feel for most of us. Floral dresses continue to be a great wardrobe staple and this one is simply divine.

Buttoned Back Blouse
White
£59
I ordered the red in this blouse some time ago to try for size and fit; for this Spring I feel white is the better colour option – super chic with the lace detailing and I think would look great in the office teamed with blue jeans.

The buttons at the back are a tad difficult to do up, but after a little practice you’ll get to grips with that. The material is also quite stiff, which isn’t a bad thing when you are wearing it with jeans – Sizing is true to fit.

Belted Army Jacket
Khaki Green
£89

The ‘boxy’ jacket is very much in at the moment; this one here has a little more shape to it with the belt to help define the waist. Khaki too is the most popular colour choice, and I think this will tone in well with the other items I have selected within the blogpost. We sometimes forget to invest in a coat/jacket for Spring as we perhaps think it’s warmer than it truly is, it’s definitely one to give some thought to.

Frilled Mock Neck Top
Light Pink
£27

I bought this and I love it – it’s absolutely fabulous for work and I know I will wear at the weekend too with either a skirt or jeans. This ‘light pink’ is actually a light warm coral rather than a blue-pink, so it’s perfect for the warm skin-tone. Sizing is true to fit. Love, love, love!

Leopard Print Scarf
Pink/Print
£35

At this price-point it’s not silk, it’s 100% polyester – but I have to say the design is very attractive and an injection of both colour and the print can really enhance you outfit, particularly if you are keen to stay fairly neutral. A tip I have if you get a tad fed up with a scarf around your neck, tie it to your handbag – I frequently do this – it either helps to have the extra item for warmth, as and when you need it, or it’s a really good trick to jazz up a handbag.
