By the time this blogpost lands with you, I shall hopefully be sunning myself in the hot sunshine of Europe – yes I am on my beach holiday this week! Getting prepared for this trip has been a lot of fun (and a tad stressful too) in getting all my holiday items ready! As so much work went into my own styling, I thought I would share with you some of my purchases or summer finds that I simply thought were fabulous. The sales are on which means, if you’ve not yet bought your holiday items the shops will soon be clearing them out, so start planning if you need to be filling any gaps!
This dress, I purchased from New Look last weekend, I fell in love as soon as I spotted it. I like the fabric too, it’s silky (not silk though – 100% polyester). If you are an hourglass body shape (like me) with strong straight shoulders than a halter neck is very flattering, it really helps define your shoulders. There are also two big slits either side of the dress, making it perfect for day time too in the heat.
I was debating whether to get this next one in white or black… my local store only had the white….and it’s on holiday with me!
Other colour options/prints available too – 57% Viscose, 37% Cotton, 6% Linen
I’ve gone with a monochrome beach bag this year, with tassels and lots of texture. So if you like the sound of monochrome, then I found this is a gorgeous beach bag – Love Stories is a monochrome collection by H&M that includes either items like swimwear, flip flops and scarves.
Always, always consider some exciting new jewellery – these are fun, colourful and definitely a statement piece!
I’m never keen to spend a lot on vest tops but they are a serious essential for the beach – HUSH are renowned for their soft gorgeous tee fabrics – I still love my white Hush tee that I’ve had for many years on, so this brand is well worth investing in and this turquoise is such a fabulous colour!
My love of River Island bags x My new love of backpacks and so this little beauty is just FABULOUS! A great travel companion.
If you’ve not seen &Other Stories fashion jewellery collection, it’s definitely worth taking a look – they have such fun affordable pieces – and jewellery is an easy way to update your look – I’m loving these gorgeous earrings and a fab price too at £17
An easy tee to slip over a bikini with shorts whilst you head to that beach bar for a cocktail!
This next one, I cannot wait to wear – it doesn’t look much in the photo (and I personally opted for the black version to continue my monochrome theme), but it looks super stylish on and it has…. pockets! When I found them, I was so happy. It is a relaxed fit and different body shapes will need different things from this dress – but if you are pear or hourglass you may want to size down, possibly two sizes as there is a lot of material with this beach dress.
Available in many colours, this one is red.
Now sticking with M&S Collection, I didn’t buy this as I have swimwear sorted, but I absolutely loved this red and pink range, the colours work really well together and it’s a super stylish collection that you can invest in a number of pieces if you love to be co-ordinated.
This paisley jumpsuit I have had a few weeks now, you may have spotted me in it on a recent post about shell jewellery. I was in Primark last week and they still have it in store and online. For me this is a very versatile item for my holidays, I shall wear it out-out, then possibly day time to the beach – and if I feel I can get another wear out of it, I may just be tempted to wear it flying home as it’s like pjs! I have to wear it with a strapless bra, but if you don’t fancy that, it’s just as great with a t-shirt or vest underneath too, for a different look.
